DAY THREE

Motuihe Island :Stunning little island close to Auckland, gorgeous beaches, great snorkeling, and fishing.

Getting there:
Motuihe is 16 kilometres from downtown Auckland. It's easily reached by centreboard yachts and windsurfers from Eastern Beach in a southeasterly, with good landing sites at Calypso, Snapper and West bays and Ocean Beach. Getting through the Motuihe Channel when the wind opposes the tide can be a very choppy and wet ride. There are regular ferry runs to the island.

Ferry:  60 minutes each way.
Departs: Daily from Pier 4, Quay Street

11:00-12:30 p.m. Lunch and take a stroll on the beach
01:00-03:00 p.m. Snorkling
03:40 p.m. Take the ferry back to Auckland
05:00 p.m. Arrive back to Skycity Hotel
05:00-07:00 p.m. Shop at downtown- the BIG little city
07:00-09:00 p.m. Dinner at Northern Steamship Brewbar and Restaurant in Britomart Precinct
09:00-09:30 p.m. Return back to hotel
